Matt 18: 15“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” “If he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” 16 “But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.” 17“And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.”
Jeremiah 9:6, “Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit, they refuse to know me, declares the LORD.” 2nd Thessalonians 2:10, “and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”
Delusions are ignoring truth or unknowingly living out a lie. Many people do this when following a purpose in their lives that is contrary to God.When we define deceit we must remember that deceit is not a permanent condition. Deception is the Devil’s Most Dangerous Device
What are some of the primary objectives of Satan?
To deceive us concerning the true nature of sin.
To cause us to doubt the truth of God’s Word
To cause us to feel inferior and inadequate—low self-esteem
To tempt us not to trust in the Lord.
To discourage us concerning our progress in spiritual growth.
To disappoint through the inconsistency of ourselves and others.
To cause us to lose our vitality and credibility.
To encourage us to abdicate the Christian life.
To render us ineffective and unfruitful in our service of God.
To divide us from others through unnecessary and unresolved conflict.
The Bible is rich with examples where mankind will call evil good. They call evil good for many reasons. They do it to scam people. They call evil good to seek self-gratification without the constraint of God’s truth. They do it in the hope of false promises. They call evil good to obtain ill-gotten gains through intimidation, deceit, or scams.
Isaiah 5:20, If you seek self-gratification more than truth, you will never be satisfied. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Proverbs 20:17, “Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.”
Truthful people will prevail in the end.
Prov. 12:19 Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment Prov. 12:19
2 Peter 2:1-2—“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.”
1 John 4:20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.
Matthew 12:36-37 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
If you lie to others, you will be lied to as well.
Gal. 6:7-8) Whatever a man sows, he will reap
Above all, pray for “Users and Abusers” they need conversion. They are going to hell, they are as unsaved.. Pray “…That they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will” (2 Timothy 2:26). Lying reveals a lack of godliness. Lying is a mark of an unfaithful person. Lying often accompanies other sins.
The good news is that we have available to us the first line of defense—the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God Eph. 6:17
1 John 4:4-6, “You… are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”
Trust in and obey the God who sends His Messiah Jesus to judge the earth. God has a plan to right every wrong and punish all evildoers. 2 Pet. 3:9 “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance”
