Dr. Rodney Howard Browne

Guilty by association?

” Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne’s Bible Studies Teacher Charged With Lewd Acts Christian News Today, 1999

Now the Tampa Tribune reported on September 24, 1999 that a Bible studies teacher at Rodney Howard-Browne’s church the River on East Busch Boulevard was arrested Thursday for fondling the 8 year old daughter of a woman he had met at church.   Multi-million dollars Family run Evangelistic Ministries in America be it (Benny) Hinn of Orlando, (Karl) Strader of Lakeland,  (Rodney) Howard-Browne of Tampa, (Jerry) Falwell of Lynchburg, (Bill) Bright of Orlando, (Pat) Robertson of Norkfolk, (Richard) Roberts of Tulsa, and (Kenneth) Copeland of Forth Worth are notorious for hiding their total salaries and those of their family members and special friends in their personally owned non-profit religious corporation.  Just like with the Bakker’s of PTL Club fame personal misconduct, mismanagement, and pillaging of the treasury and misuse of  Ministry resources are quite common. The Straders of Lakeland, personal friends of the Jim Bakker, Benny Hinn. Oral and Richard Roberts and Rodney Howard-Browne, went through a major split of Carpenter’s Home Church in 1989 when  the Straders refused to relinquish the financial control they had on the ministry, the church and its assets.  All of these family run ministries see the dumb sheep as God sent to be fleeced for their own hidden agenda and growth of their personal kingdom of which they are kings and rule supreme.  Dr. Rodney Howard- Browne had been credited with bringing the laughter revival to America. But from what really happened in Carpenter’s Home Church in 1993 and 1994 and its devastating effect on the community including the robbing, raping and murdering of the sheep,  was not much of a revival. The Florida State prosecutors proved their case and convinced the jurors that Dan Strader devised an elaborate scheme to attract cash in the real estate and mortgage investments. He was selling the securities without a license and that the securities were unregistered. This was done in an organized method amounting to Racketeer-Influence and Corrupt Organizations, or  RICO Act.  Daniel, 37, was sentenced to 45 years in prison in August 1995. He was convicted of 238 felony counts for bilking 57 mostly elderly investors, some members of the church, out of $2.3 million by selling investments in properties that didn’t exist or already had liens against them. Others who were involved along with Dan Strader were not pursed by the State of Florida as they felt that the conviction of Daniel Strader was a good example for others to take notice.  Dr Rodney Howard Browne used his influence and powers to raise money at Carpenter’s Home Church to buy the senior pastor Karl Strader his much need second Lincoln Town Car. But when Rodney was requested to use his influence and power to raise money for the unfortunate elderly victims of Dan’s Strader, he refused.  It is to be noted that Howard-Browne’s standard biography claims he once served as an associate pastor at Rhema. But according to Rhema church officials contacted, Howard-Browne was never an associate pastor–nor did he ever hold any pastoral credentials or responsibilities. Said Kelmeyer: “Rodney was never an associate pastor here. He was an ordained minister by the state and a lecturer at our Bible school, but was not involved in any form of pastoral work.” Howard-Browne also claimed a “doctorate of ministry degree” from an obscure San Jacinto, California correspondence institution called “The School of Bible Theology.” A state Department of Education employee contacted likened the tiny school, which bills itself as “The Seminary to the World” and has no faculty, to a “diploma mill.” The Tampa Tribune also reported recently that: Although Billy Graham encourages religious leaders to be open about their salaries and publish their finances, Howard-Browne would not disclose what he earns. He says his salary is determined by his board of directors, which is comprised of four pastors, himself and his wife. The couple does not vote on his salary. “People get hung up on the figure,” he says. “But they don’t take everything into account. I don’t get a housing or clothing allowance. We take our kids on the road and that’s very expensive.” Not good enough, says Paul Nelson, president of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability in Washington. Revival Ministries International is not among its 925 members.  “When you hold yourself out as a public trust, it’s just good practice to be open about your finances,”  ”

This clear attempt to paint everyone black now, all Pentecostals as being dirtied, everyone associated  painted by one dirty paint brush, is clearly a common work also  of prideful persons now like  Walter Kambulow and John Davies, neither of whom have even acted reputedly in my own personal witness and dealings with them.. and they have their own hidden agendas for doing so now as well , clearly even such as their false need to be worshipped, admired by others.. . rather than truly BEING THE SERVANTS OF THE MOST HIGH GOD.

(Hab 2:9 KJV)  Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

(Hab 2:10 KJV)  Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.

(Hab 2:11 KJV)  For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

(Hab 2:12 KJV)  Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

When God First Anointed Me

When You Grow Up in the Fire, You Cannot Stand the Smell of Smoke

I was raised in a Pentecostal home and born again at the age of five. I later received the Holy Spirit into my life at the age of eight. As I was growing up, I continually

saw supernatural manifestations in the church we attended. I also saw it in my home.

I remember on one occasion, my mother fell and broke her arm in three places. Her arm bone was jutted up above her wrist. My parents were sitting in the living

room listening to a Kathryn Kuhlman tape back in the days of the reel to reel tape recorder.

After they had taken communion, our pastor came and laid hands upon my morn and the power of God went through her arm like pins and needles. She felt a burning

fire running up and down her arm and she knew she was healed. Our pastor was a powerful man of God. Back in the fifties, he had gone into a deaf school and emptied it by the power of God. Every deaf person was healed.

When my mother said she was going to cut the

plaster cast off because she was healed, I pleaded with

her not to. I was only about six years old at the time. To

me, if something was broken, it was broken. I thought if

she took off the cast her arm would fall off!

She went into the bathroom and filled the tub with

hot water and while she was cutting away the cast with a

razor blade, she was praying in the Holy Ghost. A little

while later, she came out of the bathroom totally healed

by the power of God. This was only four days after she

had broken her arm. It was a total miracle that astounded

the medical profession – a proven, documented miracle.

What I am saying is that you cannot grow up

seeing that happen without being affected as a child

towards the reality of the power of the Holy Ghost.

The Family That Prays Together, Stays Together

My parents would sometimes pray from seven in

the evening until two in the morning. People would come

to the house and not want to leave because the presence

of God was there, the anointing of God was there.

We would sit at the table and my father would

start to pray over the food. I could tell from the way he

prayed whether we were about to eat or whether we

would eat a little while later. The anointing of God would

come upon him and he would begin to prophesy. My

mother would put the food back into the oven. She knew

we were about to have church!

Hungry and Thirsty for God

I knew that there was more, much more. During

the years that would follow, I began to get hungry for

God. In July of 1979, I cried out to God in sheer

desperation. I wanted Him to manifest Himself to me and

in me. I was hungry.

He told me that I had to hunger and thirst. At first

said to Him, “Why don’t You just give it to me? I have

served You all my life. I have been a good boy. I haven’t

done this, I haven’t done that, as others have. God, I

deserve it.”

He said, “I’m not a respecter of persons. You

come the same way everyone else does. You come in

faith and you get hungry and you desire it. Then I’ll give

it to you.”

You have to desire it like a man who has been in

the desert three days desires water. All he can cry for is

water. If a man walks up to him and offers him half a

million dollars, he will push him aside and shout, ‘No,

water, water, water!’ He wants water more than life itself,

because the only thing that is going to save him is water.

When you become desperate for the Holy Ghost

in your life like that, so that you want nothing else, then

He will come. There is something about a hungry and

thirsty heart that will cause God’s power to move over a

million people and come to your house.

Baptism of Fire

As I prayed that day, I told the Lord, “Either You

come down here and touch me, or I am going to come up

there and touch You.” I was desperate. I must have called

out to God for about twenty minutes that day.

Suddenly the fire of God fell on me. It started on

my head and went right down to my feet. His power

burned in my body and stayed like that for three whole

days. I thought I was going to die. I thought He was

going to kill me.

I thought, He has heard my prayer,

“Either You come down here and touch me or I will come

up there and touch You,” and now He has come down

here and touched me and He is going to kill me and take

me home.

I was really praying, “Lord, I am too young to

die.” In the forth day, I am not praying, “O Lord, send

your glory,” I am praying, “Please lift it off me so that I

can bear it.” I was plugged into heaven’s electric light

supply and since then my desire has been to go and plug

other people in.

My whole body was on fire from the top of my

head to the soles of my feet. Out of my belly began to

flow a river of living water. I began to laugh

uncontrollably and then I began to weep and then speak

with other tongues.

Drunk on the New Wine

I was so intoxicated on the wine of the Holy Ghost that I was literally beside myself. The fire of God was coursing through my whole being and it didn’t quit. I

began to realize why we would need a glorified body when we get to heaven. When the natural comes in contact with the supernatural, something has to give way and it’s not going to be the supernatural. He did finally lift that intense anointing off me, but it stayed lightly on me, that I was aware of, for two weeks. Because of that encounter with the Lord, my life was radically changed from that day on.”

Rodney Howard-Browne was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and grew up in the Eastern Cape and Transkei. His wife, Adonica, was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and raised in Johannesburg. Rodney gave his heart to the Lord at the age of five and Adonica gave her heart to the Lord at the age of seventeen. They met and married in 1981 and immediately went full-time together into the traveling ministry. Over the next six years they traveled across Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe and Namibia, preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In 1983, they pioneered a church in the Northeastern Cape and pastored there for two years. After that, Rodney taught classes in a leading Bible School for another two years.

During this time, they had three children: Kirsten, born in 1982, Kelly May, born in 1984, and Kenneth, born in 1987. Rodney and Adonica knew, even before they married, that they were both called to travel around the world to preach the gospel and they had a particularly strong calling toward the United States of America. In 1987 the door opened for them to go to America. Rodney visited America twice that year, preaching in several churches, and in December 1987 the whole family traveled to America to fulfill the call and plan and purpose of God and to move into the new phase of ministry that God had called them into. The Lord supernaturally provided for their air tickets and they came to America with only $300, four suitcases, and their three children, then aged five, three and seven months.

Rodney and Adonica came to America with a passion burning in their heart to see souls saved and lives touched and also with a commission from the Lord. He told them to, “Stir up the churches and tell them to get ready for the coming revival.” In order to see a great harvest of souls, the Church must be stirred up and a fire must be lit on the inside of them to see souls saved and the lost brought into the kingdom and family of God. The Lord also told them that He would use them in the same way that He used Joseph in Egypt. He told them that in the end, they would be a greater blessing to their homeland by living in America, than they would if they had stayed in South Africa. Since, then they have had some wonderful meetings in various cities in South Africa, including some that went for up to four weeks, with thousands of people in attendance. In one week of revival in Johannesburg, they registered over 22,000 people at their South African campmeeting. However, they feel that this word from God has truly been fulfilled through the Good News crusades in South Africa!

From January 1988, they traveled across America for fifteen months, all the time praying that God would pour out His spirit upon His people and that they would have a supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit that they would never forget. In the sixteenth month, April 1989, the glory of God was poured out in a Tuesday morning service in a church in upstate New York, beginning a revival that continues to this day. That week, hundreds of people were dramatically touched and changed by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit and since then, hundreds of thousands of people, around the world, have experienced the life-changing power of God.

When people encounter the presence of God, they are saved, healed, set free, and delivered. When people allow the Spirit of God to do a work in them, their relationships are restored, broken hearts are mended, wounded emotions are made completely whole, and they are filled with love, joy, and peace. No man can do these things—only the Spirit of the Lord—but in order for Him to be made manifest in our midst, He must first be made welcome in our midst!

Rodney and Adonica feel that God has called them to teach the body of Christ, by example, how to create an atmosphere in the church, through the worship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so that the presence of God can be made welcome and so that He can touch His children as He sees fit. Jesus said that if He is lifted up then He would draw all men unto Himself. Our job is to lift Him up and not be ashamed of the Word of God or the Spirit of God. Rodney and Adonica teach on how you can have revival in your own life and they have seen the power of God touch and change people’s hearts, for eternity, on six continents. No matter what their language is, or their customs, or their culture, in the end, they all respond to the Holy Spirit in the same way.

Rodney and Adonica have seen mighty revivals break out in North, South and Central America, Africa (including South Africa), the United Kingdom, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Israel and run anywhere from one to four consecutive weeks. In one year they held a total of thirteen weeks of revival in Lakeland, Florida. Rodney and Adonica felt that God did not want them to run revivals longer than four consecutive weeks in churches, because their commission is to stir up the churches and the pastors, shake them out of their complacency, fire them up to press in deeper with the Holy Spirit, and then leave them to do what God has called them to do in their city.

Rodney and Adonica, and their ministry team, under the banner of Revival Ministries International, travel about 46 weeks of the year, holding weekly meetings in cities across North America and around the world. They also pastor a church in Tampa, Florida, The River at Tampa Bay, which they founded on December 1, 1996 and which now has 3000 members. In the summer of 2001, the Lord blessed them with a beautiful two-year old building on the main highway that is worth twice what they paid for it! In 1997, they started the River Bible Institute, training students in the Word and the Spirit, imparting into their hearts both a spirit of evangelism and of revival. They also started an online version of the Bible School, allowing students of every nation, with access to the Internet, to participate.

Rodney and Adonica have never lost their focus on the most important assignment of their lives and ministry—souls. In 1998, God gave Rodney a dream about a huge soul-winning crusade in New York City, so in the summer of 1999, under the banner of Good News New York, they rented Madison Square Garden for six weeks of focused soul-winning. Street evangelists, ordinary people who had been touched by revival, from every continent were in New York every day for eight weeks, telling people that God had a great plan for their lives and leading them to Jesus. Altogether, 48,459 people made Jesus the Lord of their lives (recorded decisions). In the summer of 2000, it was Good News Shreveport/Bossier in the state of Louisiana—eight weeks of street evangelism, going door-to-door and six weeks in the Hirsch Coliseum. 59,247 souls were saved this time.

In November 2004, it was Soweto, South Africa’s turn—in just 10 nights, 177,600 decisions for Christ were recorded at Good News Soweto. In May of 2005, they held their second mass crusade, Good News Umlazi near to Durban, South Africa. They had an accumulated attendance of over 539,000 people over 10 nights and had over 286,750 souls saved in the stadium, and many more over the radio. In October of 2005, they returned again to South Africa for their third mass crusade. In just five nights, 113,000 precious people gave their lives to the Lord in Mamelodi, near the capital of Pretoria. In Soweto, the meeting went out live, across Africa on GodTV, and on two local radio stations, one secular, one Christian. In Umlazi, the meeting was broadcast on three radio stations, one secular and two Christian, and in Mamelodi it went out over four radio stations, two Christian and two secular. In this way, countless numbers of people were impacted by the power of God!

Every night they preached a soul-winning message, gave an altar call for salvation, ministered on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and prayed with the people to be filled with the Spirit and to speak in other tongues. Then they prayed for all those who needed healing, as the people placed their hands on the sick part of their body. Many wonderful healings took place both at the crusade venue and over the radio!

Already, in Tampa, Florida, 328,565 souls have been saved in nearly four years of focused soul-winning in the church and on the streets.

Rodney and Adonica’s second daughter, Kelly was born with an incurable lung disease, called Cystic Fibrosis. This demonic disease slowly destroyed her lungs and early on Christmas morning 2002, at the age of eighteen, after being on oxygen for fourteen months, she ran out of lung capacity and breathed her last breath. They had held onto her for as long as they could—she almost died at eleven months and again at three years old—and God had spared her life for all this time, but now they felt her slipping out of their grasp. Kelly’s life had always spurred them on—instead of backing off when the devil attacked her body, they pushed back at him! They fought harder, they did more, they gave more, they stretched their faith to see more of God’s power in action, they preached more, they prayed more, and they believed for more miracles and for even greater miracles! Kelly was their fight!

As they held her in their arms, as her body lay dying, and before the devil could snuff out her life, they did the only thing that they could think of doing: they offered their precious daughter, the best gift that they could ever give in a lifetime, to the Lord as an offering on the day the world celebrated His own birthday. They placed her into the arms of her Lord and Savior and then vowed a vow. First, they vowed that the devil would pay for what he had done to their family. Secondly, they vowed to do everything in their power, with the help of the Lord, to win 100 million souls to Jesus and to put $1 billion into world missions and the harvest of souls!

Now, they don’t expect to do this by themselves. To the best of their ability, they will contribute to this number, but they are also helping, encouraging, inspiring and empowering others to do the same. Already, they have sowed millions of dollars into other ministries who are in the harvest fields. They financially support Reinhard Bonnke Ministries, Acres of Love, a home for abandoned and AIDS babies in South Africa, and many other ministries.
