How many rich people in Calgary, Edmonton Alberta?

 Alberta2L

“I was watching how the news media lies about ALBERTA even this week,, One person said there are jobs in Alberta, 10,000 people move there every month. Well how many the 10,000 persons got a good paying job to be able to pay the high  rent, pay for the really high cost of living, high hidden taxes  too. Do they also have good doctors, good teachers, good car mechanics,  good stores, good restaurants there now too? Or is still a backward place. I saw on the CBC also how a working couple were unable to afford a home, and support 3 children in Calgary. “
.
July 2013 Federal Official Opposition Leader Thomas Mulcair himself after visiting Calgary, Alberta said he doesn’t think the rest of Canada has a full understanding of the devastation caused by floods that hit southern Alberta  now. “  it’s easy to forget that there are months, and months, and months of cleanup. And then years and years and years of rebuilding”  Many of the Albertans,  First Nations and even low-income Albertans, including seniors, who were pushed out of their homes NEED TO be put back into proper housing  EVEN before the  Alberta winter hits. Who will help to do all of this still? Almost no one? Donations received  are just a drop in the bucket.
.
CALGARY ALBERTA DOES NOT HAVE THE MONEY OR  THE SKILLED MANPOWER TO REBUILD FROM IT’S UNEXPECTED DEVASTATION THAT OCCURRED INSTANTLY AND WILL TAKE DECADES TO RESTORE. https://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/alberta-today/

Alberta Update
Once really falsely proud Alberta is a state of losers now.. http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/Tory+puts+taxes+radar/7793102/story.html …
.Alberta is now a province of losers on social welfare now begging the East for help mainly due to the oil downturn, with massive layoffs, firms closing their doors forever, and loads of home prices dropping even foreclosures. Albertans today are broke and are singing the blues. They want cash from the rest of Canada. Now. This is a crisis. How could they have known this might happen? Well, for starters, they might have read some past posts of mine..  Alberta’s surprise recession is not much of a surprise to the wise… for false pride still comes before a great fall.. lay off the too many abusive cops, bad city hall employees as well in Alberta and save the money now too. You have to be rather kind, nice to everyone, even the Albertans now too, cause you do not know to whom you will go begging for help next as well. Conservatives tend to be self centered, greedy, materialistic oriented persons. Their universe is usually small. self centered, superficial . Research has indicated that the materialism drive are due to a high neuroticism and low agreeableness. They feel incomplete. That is why they use other people to fill up the inner gap. . They are intolerant of differences. They devalue others and put them at a lesser position. It is hard for self-centered people to have a real sense of empathy. Even if they do, it is usually conditional, depending on what they are receiving from the source they are empathizing with. They expect too much for what they are willing to give. Yes when you go deep inside, their real feeling of inadequacy reveals itself. Don’t buy into their arrogance, don’t feed their excessive sense of self-importance. Don’t be their door mat. Have compassion for them since they falsely have created a wrong type of self-protection mode for them. Beyond the fact of their self-delusion is the related inability to admit to their own basic motivations . Neglect the poor and you will walk in their does next.

A study says shrinking budgets in the oil and gas industry could lead to as many as 185,000 direct and indirect job losses this year in Canada.  In the one horse province  Alberta would be the hardest hit .  Loonie plunges as oil’s slide continues; One-in-four oil, gas jobs could be lost in 2015 but for decades the Politicians did not plan ahead for the rainy days..  Bleak numbers showing that Canada’s economy shrank in the first three months of 2015 have already created a torrent of downgraded economic projections on how the rest of the year will unfold.  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2015/05/08/what-happened-in-alberta-is-no-surprise-to-the-honest-decent-folks-socialists-elected-in-canadas-oil-patch/

The Albertan Way of Government management is dictatorship also  and they wonder why they cannot get low coast workers to Alberta these days too.. when the average price of a Calgary home in 1980 was $93,977 and that has jumped to $380,489 this year, an increase of 304.9 per cent. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/the-alberta-way/

Calgary has the highest rate of hate-motivated crime in the country, according to a new study released by Statistics Canada
.

In 2006, 92 hate crimes were reported in Calgary — about nine incidents for every 100,000 people in the city, or three times higher than the national average of three per 100,000, said the agency Monday.

Calgary was one of five cities that reported data higher than the national average. The other four cities were all in Ontario.  I m not surprised. People in Calgary treat colored people like a 2nd class citizen. I don’t know about Ontario, but the conditions here are atrocious.Canadians have this misconcept that they are tolarant people I can tell you about Calgarians, majority are racist. Everyone saying “I’ve been here for a million years and have seen no sign of any sort of hate crime!” must walk around with their eyes closed. I never thought so much racism, homophobia and just plain ANGER could exist. It’s really sad “I liked the comment about attributing the high number of hate crimes in Calgary to new arrivals from the East. I believe this is what psychologists refer to as “deflecting” or projecting one’s own character failings onto others.   If newly arrived Easterners are truly responsible for all the hate crime, then what attracted them to Calgary in the first place?”  http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2008/06/09/hate-crimes.html.

THE HIGH COST OF LIVING STILL MAKES ALBERTA  AN UNDESIRABLE PLACE TO GO TO ANYWAY .
.

There are only 2  major towns in Alberta, Edmonton and Calgary, and that’s it, but plenty of bad cops too, basically these insignifcant cities  are the sole oasis in a large wilderness or mostly vacant land.. …. there are  not many small towns next in Alberta or an overall big population as well. These Major cities still  are support service towns, meaning mostly made up of homes, schools, hospitals, food stores, a few office buildings, oil and gas  corporate headquarters, and very little direct manufacturing. Watch out the cops, judges there,  tend to be mean and nasty, parking and traffic ticket quota oriented, enforcing the letter of the law over the spirit of the law. Sadly some of the news media  still propagates the lie that Alberta is a place of  plenty of good  paying jobs, and  high salaries. Now it is understandable that business persons and politicians lie a lot already but these  distorted facts about the true nature of Alberta are made to  encourage their much needed capital investors to a province that lacks investors, for that matter it even still lacks any manufacturing industry especially since the cost of labor is too high, the cost of electricity is too high, there is a lack of skilled persons to hire, and the basic cost of living is much too high, the costs, homes, apartments unaffordable for many new comers as well.  Most of Alberta is farms and very costly single family dwellings, for  there are few apartments built, never mind  even available, and the present consumer prices, cost of living, hidden taxes too are ridiculous. Their support services now are not that great not even their hotels, restaurants, hospitals, school sand the insurance, and the dentist costs are outrageous too. There is no real consumer protection in Alberta, nor rental control basically in Alberta where  the Landlord can jack up prices any time and as high as he wants. The population of Alberta is too low to support any major sales, marketing programs to the consumers , and most of the people have very big home mortgages so their goods purchase power is low.. most people are not friendly, the mostly bad churches now included,  they are grumpy rather too.
.

THE ALBERTA NEWS MEDIA AND THE GOVERNMENTS OF ALBERTA DO NOT LIKE TO DISCLOSE THE REALITY OF THE MANY HIDDEN TAXES, HIDDEN EXTRA COSTS  IN ALBERTA. Yes you do not pay any provincial taxes there.. but that is where the economic benefit of living there stops.. the costs of land, homes, apartments, food, ELECTRICTY, maintenace, services, education etc., are much higher than in Quebec for a start but the  average salaries in Alberta generally are not any signifcantly higher,  OR ADEQUATE TO PAY THE EXTRA COSTS..

.

Buyers find sanctuary in rural real estate Calgary Herald –  With prolonged economic malaise on the horizon, residential properties outside Calgary’s limits may become more attractive for potential homebuyers looking to escape to their own sanctuaries away from the hustle and bustle of big city life.”
.

May I remind you  that Calgary and Edmonton had expanded so fast that they took over all of the suburbs and there is no real estate available outside of the main cities.. and especially no water… and the remaing extremely small Towns like High River , Canmore, Okatoks, have already long been engulfed in the over pricing of the homes too..

.

Reality In Calgary, Edmonton  when there is a recession, you lose your job,  your house goes into foreclosure and you  have a BIG GARAGE  SALE AND YOU MOVE BACK EAST, CAUSE IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO SHIP YOUR GOODS ANYWHERE.

 .

Imagine my surprise, unlike Quebec where there is an abundance of them on the rural roads, you really could not find a restaurant , never mind a decent one on the highway outside of the main cities.

 .

Anyway the wise people knew that this day of the Albertan recession was coming, when the oil prices would drop again, for history repeats itself, even like it did in the 80’s in Alberta too.

 .

In spite of the spins PM Stephen Harper is not the only one facing an eviction notice these days.

.

Alberta Today, Beware always of the much too many   men and women, liars, bullies, tormentors, control freaks,  persons, civil and public servants,  politicians, pastors, leaders, elders, who falsely do, will try to enslave you, oppress you, exploit you even while they claim they are proclaiming the truth, democracy, trying to help you, etc.,
.
Is 51:23 ..your tormentors {and} oppressors, those who said to you, Bow down, that we may ride {or} tread over you; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.
.

CBC.ca –  Alberta has been particularly hard-hit by recession-fed job losses, with young people and unemployed men claiming federal Employment Insurance benefits in near record numbers, Statistics Canada said Tuesday.
.

History as usual repeats itself even in Alberta. Predicable, cyclic  Bust takes still Alberta by surprise  today ? “ There’s a tiny park in downtown Calgary that is a stark reminder of everything that went wrong in Alberta after the boom of the 1980s and seems to be happening all over again.  The park is right next to the Bank of Montreal’s 41-storey office tower. It was supposed to be the site of a second tower that was cancelled when the bank realized the boom was over and it wouldn’t need all those offices in Western Canada after all. Twenty years later, the price of oil and gas has nosedived again and major projects are about to be cancelled or capped.  Just last week, developers of what is slated to be the tallest building in Western Canada declared that they need $1.1 billion to keep the project going. There is already a square-block hole in the ground and a forest of girders and cranes on-site in the heart of downtown Calgary, but the future home of EnCana Corporation is desperately trying to arrange construction financing in a tight credit market.  Building permits on five other large projects are set to expire because of inactivity. In some cases, the city has had to seal empty construction pits because the developers have pulled the plug.  You would think that in a city, and a province, that has experienced more than a few booms and busts over the past 80 years some sort of common sense would have evolved about how to thrive over the long term in such an economy. But it seems both the private sector and the government are easily blinded by their wishful thinking: this boom will last forever and the money will keep rolling in, they keep telling themselves and everyone else. But it never does. So in the same week that the city’s largest construction project was revealed to be in trouble, the finance minister and the premier announced more bad news. The provincial treasury’s projected surplus for 2008-2009 dwindled from $8.5 billion to $2 billion because of declining oil and gas prices and will likely dwindle even further. Plans for new roads, schools and hospitals are now on hold.  Premier Ed Stelmach also revealed that he is deferring a new royalty regime – which was have to added more than $1.4 billion a year to provincial coffers – because it’s simply the wrong time to increase taxes and risk a further slowdown of the petroleum industry.  No doubt he wishes former premier Ralph Klein had increased royalties years ago when the industry was awash in profits. None of this would really matter if the provincial government had actually prepared for the bust during the boom by saving some of its billions of dollars in bounty.  But it didn’t. Instead it spent billions on infrastructure when the cost of labour and materials was skyrocketing; at one point it issued $400 cheques to every man, woman and child in Alberta, a $1.4 billion giveaway; and it cut taxes or kept them low. Alberta still has The Heritage Savings Trust Fund established by former premier Peter Lougheed but it is only worth $15.8 billion. Norway, by contrast, has managed to squirrel away $350 billion since 1991. Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have also managed to whittle away billion dollar surpluses. Perhaps they also thought the boom would last forever. Or perhaps all those Alberta Conservatives simply forgot about the famous bumper sticker from the 1980s that read: “Please God, let there be another oil boom. I promise not to piss it away this time.”  ” http://www.thestar.com/comment/article/541627

The Suncor takeover of Petrocan, because its stock is so cheap, adds instant cash to Suncor’s position, provides oil and gas development opportunities, and essentially now allows the companies to slash spending in areas of overlap… meaning firing a lot of the duplicate now Alberta employees..

.

The saddest thing with all those continual lies and spins of thus a mostly crooked past leaders in  in Alberta the last 50 years is that Alberta still is and always will be a one horse town.. mainly centered on oil.. and the very same incompetents have never ever been able to effectively diversify to other industries, products even cause the population base is still too small, and the cost of electricity is too high.. that all makes Alberta just a nice place to visit.

.

I REMEMBER WHEN MANY ARROGANT ALBERTANS, POLITICIANS  USED TO FALSELY BOAST ON THE NET ABOUT THEIR PROSPERITY.. and I would reply they need to be really now more considerate of the poor people and the rest of Canada for they too will ONE DAY  be on social aid, EVEN asking other Canadians to help them.. it is funny how reality  comes to pass with time even in Alberta.  http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/02/20/pride-comes-before-a-fall-in-alberta-too/

Subject: Speed-on-green cameras in Calgary, Edmonton today – all getting to be really ludicrous, absurd..

It’s all very simple: obey the laws.  You broke the law, accept the consequences, and if that hypocritical, absurd, extreme statement was the reality, the truth, everyone would next be in jail, all of the politicians, civil and public servants, cops firstly..

“We’re all for anything that can reduce the amount and severity of car crashes,”  and next will increase the amount of revenue to the insurance companies, after all each traffic  ticket helps to raise their insurance costs..  to make the insurance companies richer and their shareholders, but we may get a severe backlash when the citizens car  insurance rates rise dramatically next though.

This is also still simply not acceptable. There is a direct link between DRIVING and collisions. The MORE you drive, the more likely you are to be involved in a collision and the more likely you are to get seriously hurt . So the police will now give tickets to all drivers .

The police TRAFFIC program brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars but the police, city runs the program as revenue neutral. Profits are put back into more supposedly good  traffic safety initiatives,  but mainly into the police  empire building, so it really IS NOT THE CITIZENS GOOD WELFARE THEY FIRSTLY DO ALL CARE ABOUT.

Now in 2008, according to police statistics, there were 3,019 injury accidents in Calgary and 38 traffic fatalities.

And why is it also no one will answer the question? How many people are now are actually injured due to speeding over how many persons now are injured due to drunk drivers? 15 percent are injured due to speeding? and 45 percent due to drunk drivers? so how much resources are proportional giving by the police overall  to catching drunk drivers over the car speeders? proportionally?

The intersection cameras are being applauded by Alberta Health Services because “there is no doubt that collisions impact our health services,” said Nancy Staniland, manager of Injury Prevention & Control Services for Alberta Health.

“This is not only an obvious cash grab but they are putting our safety at risk to increase their revenues. For it is a known fact that the City of Calgary had  shortened the amount of time lights stay at yellow when they brought in red light cameras. In many cases you have no choice but to floor it to beat a red light. But now your choice will be between speeding up to avoid going through a red light or getting rear ended. If you get rear ended there’s a good chance you get end up with whiplash. Really makes you wonder just how far those in power will go to rob us.”

“As Alberta grows, drivers are causing more problems, he said: “A lot of people are impatient, there’s road rage like never before, an increase of vehicles on our roadways, With booming populations, there’s an increase in collisions.” wow those are smart observations, such as traffic tickets are good cash cows too,

and what all the people who speed are guilty of road rage? or is there a separate ticket being issued to road ragers? just as there is to drunk drivers?

“This is simply not acceptable. There is a direct link between speed and collisions. The faster you drive, the more likely you are to be involved in a collision and the more likely you are to get seriously hurt,” said Staff Sgt. Brett Marklund of the traffic section.
http://www.calgaryherald.com/Speed+green+cameras+start+today+Calgary/1451154/story.html

“In my perfect world, we are out of work. We’re not going to 80 or 90 injury collisions a year. We’re not investigating 30 or 40 fatalities a year, I’m not seeing thousands of (cases of) impaired driving a year. What we’re seeing is people driving safely and my guys writing zero tickets,”said Marklund.

A lot of our intersection crashes are related to speed. There’s in-deed a problem here at some locations, and now we can address both,” said acting Sgt. Aubrey Zalaski of Edmonton’s specialized traffic unit. The police can get promoted for getting more cash, giving out more tickets too.. self serving or really serving the public interest?

AND WHERE DO IN REALTY THE POLICE OFFICERS GET ALL OF THEIR  COMMON SENSE STATISTICS? SUPPORTED BY THE FIGMENTS OF ONE’S  IMAGINATION AND THE NEED TO JUSTIFY THEIR JOBS.. CAN I SEE THEIR DETAIL SUPPORT  STATISTICS, POLICE TRAFFIC TICKETS REPORTS  IN PRINT? NO? AND WHY NOT?

So why are Calgary drivers such chronic lead-foots? or is the question why is it the Calgary city fathers are so money hungry? The  police services are  implementing the   speed cameras as a way of adding to their coffers..

In busy Toronto, police say  Drunk driving and careless turning are the main culprits for serious accidents in intersections and red light cameras are not used because of the fear of public backlash..

‘Speed on green’ cameras linked to rear-end crashes.  Arizona cities, one of the first cities to bring in such technology says the cameras decrease speeding and dangerous collisions, but can increase the number of rear-end crashes. But of course the money hungry police of Calgary had denied this.

ANOTHER CASH GRAB.. The Calgary Parking Authority is expanding its hold on the inner city by starting to charge for parking on more than 20 blocks of the Beltline.

CALGARY AND EDMONTON POLICE ISSUE MORE TRAFFIC TICKETS OVER ANY OTHER CITIES  IN CANADA AND  FOR DECADES NOW TOO!

Anyone who thinks the cops here are being honest, serving the public is a fool..

Here is what I found amazing and worth while examining now  in much more detail.. insurance companies in Canada do not mind gouging Canadian consumers in their greed to make more profits..  and we all know that accumulating speeding , traffic infractions, will cause your car insurance costs to go up significantly…   and yet here is what I find surprising, neither the insurance companies, the provincial government, nor the federal government, the police have real, valid detailed statistics on the causes of traffic accidents: such as how many were caused my alcoholic drivers, how many were caused by speeding, how many were caused by poor road conditions, lousy snow clearing as well, etc not even in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, BC as well.. …. so what do the insurance companies do with all the extra money they collect, certainly they of all persons should have firstly the best statistics on traffic accidents now in the first place, or how do they determine their rates??? Even Canada’s police chiefs have to rely on accident statistics from other countries, such as Australia, Great Britain, the US..

Note the RCMP who is so ready to monitor others cannot monitor itself properly… No  matter how that dirty RCMP weasel spins the facts, tries to weasel out of the truth, the RCMP was clearly wrong on many counts in the Taser death of a polish immigrant at the Vancouver airport.. they were uncompassionate, inconsiderate, used more restraining force than was necessary, and they next also clearly lied to cover-up their own immoral acts, and many times as well, They slander a good man in the process as well.. and so none of this was, is acceptable or forgivable.. none  of it.  http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/04/21/the-mickey-mouse-rcmp-in-canada

I love the rocky mountains scenery, Banff and Jasper Alberta are great friendly tourist places to visit, but also not to work in.

But there is still it seems a sucker born every minute, people trying to get rich fast who flock to Alberta and get really disappointed at it’s reality.

Now even in simple common sense now too all civil and public servants, managers, professionals, polticians even in Alberta need to:
-practice their profession with integrity, honesty, truthfulness and adherence to the absolute obligation to safeguard the public trust, the employer’s good reputation as well
-act according to the highest goals and visions of their organizations, professions, clients and their own consciences  in practice they also need to put their philanthropic mission above their personal gain;
-even to inspire others through their own sense of dedication and high purpose
-clearly also to also  improve their professional knowledge and skills, so that their performance will better serve all others
– demonstrate real, visible concern for the interests and well-being of all individuals affected by all of their actions
-value the privacy, freedom of choice and interests of all those affected by their actions
and also  treat all people with dignity and respect
adhere to the spirit as well as the letter of all applicable laws and regulations
– show real compliance  within their organizations adherence to all applicable laws and regulations
clearly avoid even the appearance of any criminal offense or professional misconduct, do all things above board, visibly  beyond any ill repute as well
-bring credit to their organization and    profession by their public demeanor
encourage all of their subordinates, colleagues to embrace and practice solely  ethical principles and standards
-comply with and be fully in reality aware of the codes of ethics promulgated by other professional organizations  and others

and why do so many people not like living in Calgary, Edmonton, Alberta?

Cause it is boring, especially if you lived in Montreal, which is active day and night, weekends too, with plenty of things to keep busy with, and great food, great stores too

So ” The Prime Minister’s Office says it’s imposing restrictions on the size of ministerial entourages on trips outside Ottawa.  PMO spokesman Kory Teneycke says the number of political aides allowed to travel with a minister will be limited to two. And he says the government is considering a plan to encourage public servants to fly economy class.  The measures come amid sky high travel bills that some Conservative cabinet ministers have piled up since the Tories came to power in 2006.

For example, The Toronto Star is reporting that last year, then environment minister John Baird billed the taxpayers $61,000 in airfares to attend a climate change conference in Indonesia.  The tab included flights for himself, three political aides and two federal officials. (The Canadian Press, ccg)

(Conservatives-CBC)  Opposition parties say the Harper government is softening up the public for cuts to the CBC.  With the crashing economy and recent revelations about CBC executive spending, Liberals and New Democrats argue the government has already started to make its case.  Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has mentioned the CBC’s $1 billion-dollar annual federal subsidy — and has floated the idea of selling federal assets to balance the budget.  Heritage Minister James Moore sent a letter warning CBC executives to curb their spending in light of “reported excess.”  In the House of Commons this week, a Conservative backbencher accused the public broadcaster of “irresponsible” spending habits.  NDP heritage critic Libby Davies says it all adds up to the government “laying the groundwork” for a whack at the CBC, a favourite Conservative whipping boy. (The Canadian Press, ccg)

The allure of ultra-cheap electricity helped Quebec win another major investment yesterday, as Norway’s Renewable Energy Corp. (REC) announced plans to spend more than US$1.2-billion on a silicon manufacturing facility in the province. In Quebec, that power costs around 4¢ or 5¢ a kilowatt hour, according to industry sources. That compares with 12¢ or more in Europe, and an average of around 9¢ or 10¢ in North America. Alberta which does not have much electrical resources cannot compete here..

Calgary and Edmonton are the two  main and  largest cities, both nearly the same size too,  in the Province of Alberta, Canada.  There are no other significantly large towns in this province as well. The main economy of Alberta is cattle farming and the oil industry. The provincial government has never been able to diversify the economy. Oil which was first discovered in Alberta in 1902   did not become a significant industry in the province until 1947 Alberta’s  quickly found itself at the centre of the ensuing oil boom and grew when oil prices increased with the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973. The population increased significantly  in the years between 1971 and today. Mainly bcause of the governmental  misleading spins that Alberta was a place to get rich fast, but this is not at all true. Few people got rich in Alberta, many went broke though.  Alberta’s economy is so closely tied to the oil industry that the  subsequent drop in oil prices were cited by industry as reasons for a collapse in the oil industry and consequently the overall Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton  economy.  This is still mainly a one horse economy, province.

The rapid population growth associated with the oil boom meant a need to build new houses and roads, and related services.. these were costly undertakings which  explains why the land, homes, taxes are so high even now as well. The cost of living has increased more rapidly than the wage increase  in the last few decades too causing a lot of discomfort, personal stress as well which continues until today. The lack of local industries even presently necessitates most items to be imported from else where adding to the products costs .. Even the electrical energy costs are especially high as electricity has to be manly generated by expensive coal  firing plants. Because of the high costs of living in Alberta has had a real problem in both even attracting, and keeping competent, professional technical support personnel in all areas. Many of the new job  arrivals are not adequately still qualified in fact. This is not the land of paradise it is often falsely made out to be, not at all.. The high costs of living too explains also why the divorce rate, drug abuse, and domestic  violence, road rage is so high too. It will be that way for a few decades next too.

38 years, and running, in power (with barely ever having to worry about so much as a bad dream of losing power to another party to force them to moderate their “vision” and be pragmatic) and the PCs still haven’t managed to develop enough economic durability to weather a recession better than the “have-not” provinces. Have enough of the blind voters yet realized that this gang of inept twits needs to be thrown out of office with their insane pandering to big business in favour of a government that actually believes in, and delivers, some leadership and governance in favour of the actual people of the province, and provides effective public services for them as well? http://www.cbc.ca/canada/edmonton/story/2009/09/06/edmonton-alberta-economy-recession.html#socialcomments

Alberta drug and alcohol deaths have doubled in the past decade  Edmonton Sun  CALGARY — The number of recorded drug and alcohol deaths in Alberta has more than doubled in the past decade, says the province’s chief medical examiner. From 1998 to 2008, Alberta’s population has grown by only 13% while the annual number of non-suicide deaths attributable to intoxicants has leaped to 437 from 210. Kim Borden, research officer with the chief medical examiner’s office, was at a loss to explain why the number would so far exceed the province’s population increase. “But I do know drugs and drug-related deaths are a huge problem — it’s right up there with car crash fatalities,” she said. “It’s growing every year.” , the figures for deaths caused by drugs are likely much higher because the number of autopsies are so limited.
.
So vehicular  speeding is no the major cause of accidents, deaths but impaired driving and yet the Alberta police like to go mostly after speeders, over the drunk drivers still and why was that? Makes more money for them..

In spite of a growing, deepening Albertan  recession the most recent  growth makes Calgary , 1/3 the size of Montreal, is  supossedly the third-largest municipality in Canada ?  Now according to the latest statistics  Toronto (2,631,725 people in 2007) and Montreal (1,620,693 in 2006) had more people. Ottawa (898,150 in 2008) and Edmonton (782,439 in 2009) rounded out the top five.  However, if one uses census estimates from 2008 for metropolitan areas — which rightfully do include the immediate  surrounding suburbs — then the Calgary Region falls to fifth, behind Toronto (5,531,263), Montreal (3,750,540), Vancouver (2,271,224) and Ottawa (1,198,668).  Calgary (1,182,446) is unique  for having the vast majority of its population live in the actual municipality, and not in surrounding suburbs. It has no suburbs because it is a mostly new city basically. That is why it is also costly as the roads, sewers, are mostly new too.
.
Calgary only has 60,000 more residents than Edmonton (1,124,163) and it makes a lot of false noise in that fact too cause it wants to attract much needed capital investors for non existing industrial, commercial aspects.. There basically are only 2 large cities in Alberta, Calgary and Alberta, and a handful of smaller towns.. Alberta has some of the biggest liars, spin doctors in Canada for the main cities are desperately seeking more  revenues, and capital investors and anyway they can get them now too even by lies, distortions. There is not much industrial, Manufacturing business in Alberta due to the shortage of labor and skilled persons, and high operating costs. People in Calgary and Alberta do often dream of becoming rich ,  but it is a far away dream when you consider the high costs of living there and the uncertainty of holding onto a job too.

  1. I liked this partial post that I had read

I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn’t even bless your meals, or pray before going to bed last night. You are so unthankful, I like that about you. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living, Fool, you are mine. Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I still don’t love you yet . As a matter of fact, I hate you, because I hate God. He kicked me out of heaven, and I’m going to use you as long as possible to pay him back. You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me, and I’m going to make your life a living hell. That way, we’ll be together twice. This will really hurt God. Thanks to you, I’m really showing Him who’s boss in your life with all of the good times we’ve had. We have been. watching dirty movies, cursing people out, stealing, lying, being hypocritical, fornicating, overeating, telling dirty jokes, gossiping, being judgmental, back stabbing people, disrespecting adults, and those in leadership positions, no respect for the Church, bad attitudes. SURELY you don’t want to give all this up. Come on, Fool, let’s burn together forever. I’ve got some hot plans for us. This is just a letter of appreciation from me to you. I’d like to say “THANKS” for letting me use you for most of your foolish life. You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin, you give in. HA HA HA, you make me sick. Sin is beginning to take its toll on your life. You look 20 years older, and now, I need new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke, get drunk or drink while under-aged, cheat, gamble, gossip, fornicate, and live being as selfish as possible. Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too. Kids are like that. Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I’ll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run somewhere, confess your sins, and live for God with what little bit of life that you have left. It’s not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and still sinning, it’s becoming a bit ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I still hate you. IT’S JUST THAT YOU’D MAKE A BETTER FOOL FOR CHRIST.

“According to my Blogstats, someone found their way to my den of shame. Here we have a Letter from the Devil. i found it extremely amusing though, strangely, the blog’s readers reacted quite differently; as one confessed: “This Scared Me..I Almost Cryed…” God bless.

i don’t like Satan now! He sounds mean, like a nasty boyfriend! i bet he wears a leather jacket and smokes. He continues:

  2. All good, decent people in Canada rather are clearly a threat to this Western Conservatives

Dion a threat to the West Calgary Herald, Canada – … vain hope that they can turn those feelings into enough votes to dethrone Prime Minister Stephen Harper whenever he gets around to calling an election. …

NDP prepares star candidate for Westmount
The Gazette (Montreal), Canada – Prime Minister Stephen Harper has until July 26 to set a date for the vote. It is widely expected to be held in September along with a second by-election in …

All good, decent people in Canada rather are clearly a threat to the undeniable too often self centered, greedy, immoral, abusive West meaning Alberta mostly..

  3. Too many persons distort the LAW. it’s meaning still too.

The specific Laws are created for a reason and given a certain set of conditions and circumstances. When the circumstances or situation are not present then the law is basically not applicable. (2 Cor 3:6 KJV) for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

WE ARE NOT TO WALK “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 5:9

Jude 18-19 “”How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”
